THE SCRIPTURES INSPIRED
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, a revelation from God, given to us by the Holy Spirit through men. As such it is thoroughly accurate, reliable, and authoritative; it is beyond all human statements in all theology, doctrine, and faith as well as science and history.
Ref: (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20, 21) (Colossians 2:8)
THE ONE TRUE GOD
We believe that the one true God, referred to in the Holy Bible, has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent, self-revealed “I AM” and; has further revealed Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association by simultaneously existing as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Ref: (Deuteronomy 6:4; Mark 12:29; Isaiah 43:10,11; & Matthew 28:19)
MAN: HIS FALL AND REDEMPTION
We believe man was created good and upright; for God said, “Let us make man in our image and after our likeness.” But man, by voluntary transgression, fell and his only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
Ref: (Genesis 1:26-31; Genesis 3:17; Romans 5:12-21)
THE SALVATION OF MAN
We believe that salvation is not the result of any human effort but by faith and trust in Jesus Christ alone. This sole act of faith results in a person becoming a child of God.
Ref: (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; Hebrews 1:4)
BAPTISM IN WATER
We believe the ordinance of baptism, by burial with Christ, should be observed (as commanded in the Scriptures) by all that in their hearts have believed on Christ as their Savior and Lord. In doing so, they declare to the world that they have died with Christ and that they have also been released to walk with Him in newness of life.
Ref: (Matthew 28:19; Acts 19:47, 48; Romans 6:4)
THE LORD’S SUPPER (COMMUNION)
We observe The Lord’s Supper, consisting of the elements of bread and fruit of the vine, as a memorial to Christ’s suffering and death, the prophecy of His second coming and His enjoinment to all believers “until He comes”.
Ref: (John 6:48, 51, 53-57; Luke 22:19-20; II Peter 1:4; I Corinthians 11:25)
THE CHURCH
We believe the church is the Holy Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of her great commission. Each believer is an integral part of the church, and their names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
MINISTRY
Divinely called and scripturally ordained ministry (of which we are all a part) has been provided by our Lord for a two-fold purpose; (1) The evangelization of the world, and (2) the edification of the body of Christ. We believe that functions/directives are ordained in scripture, as an example preaching and teaching, and must be adhered to; but that forms/methodologies may be formed to meet the needs of the culture in which we live.
Ref: (Mark 15:15, 20; Ephesians 4: 11-13 (I Timothy 5:17)
THE BLESSED HOPE
We believe in the literal resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and in their transfiguration, together with those who are alive. The purpose of that resurrection being to enter God’s presence and abide there forever.
